"Pine Box" is a flash fiction piece that appears in the literary magazine, Midnight Screaming. The story portrays a mother struggling with the death of her husband and how she (and her son) learn to cope with the loss. |

"Book Girl" won the grand prize for best fiction of the year (2008) and can be found in The Copper Nickel, volume 9. The main character of the story, Lily, is a cyborg yearning to learn what it is to be human. She begins to discover her own humanity through exposure to classical works of literature. |
